The archaeological path

On foot

The Beigua Geopark, besides being rich in biodiversity and geodiversity, also highlights a significant heritage of petroglyphs in its territory, which proves the ancient human presence in the area.
Near the Laione peat bog  in the municipality of Sassello, between Piampaludo and Pratorotondo, they established a thematic itinerary dedicated to archaeology, and in particular to the petroglyphs situated in Beigua's territory.

The path develops as a ring route for about 3 km, and it takes about 2 hours to walk it, with a difference in height over 80 m. Along the stretch five casts reproducing some of the most typical engraved rocks recognized and catalogued by archaeologists within the geopark can be observed. The path can be walked in both directions, or one can follow part of it up to the stretch where the casts are placed. Enjoy yourself.
