International and national collaborations

Since the first years UNESCO Beigua Geopark is committed significantly in collaborations set internationally. This made it possible to promote a number of projects in geological and developing partnerships with other territories that adhere to the UNESCO Global Geoparks list.

In this section you will find information on projects and international collaborations in which is involved the UNESCO Beigua Geopark.

The project is based on a balanced geographical and cultural partnership of four Geopark territories with different experience in geo-education and different national systems of training and certification. The project aims to define the requirements for this new occupation at the European level, the requirements for professional training in Geo-education and its recognition and link with the labour market. The partnership will develop workshops, forums and meetings for stakeholders as teachers, trainers, staff and trainees of geoparks, which will be an asset to the acquisition of skills. It is also intended to research and prepare, publish and disseminate this new methodology to boost Geo-education. This methodology will be disclosed and available to European and Global Geoparks Networks, Schools, Universities, UNESCO and other partners that will contribute also to implementation and sustainability of our project results.

EVANDE project (Enhancing Volunteer Awareness and education against Natural Disasters through E-learning) aims to create a new learning tool to educate and train civil protection volunteers and local authoritiesÂ’ staff through identification of best practices and knowledge, to develop a web platform to host e-learning courses and training activities, as well as to organize and implement local - based dissemination and training actions. The project will explore and analyse pre-existing knowledge developed under EU projects, Scientific Research and Civil Protection strategies, as well as existing infrastructure (museums, centers, exhibits).
