The Alta Via dei Monti Liguri is a hiking itinerary covering more than 400 km across Liguria, it crosses the Beigua Park on the main ridge which offers extraordinary panoramic views from the Alpi Apuane, by way of the Gulf of Genoa and the Monviso up to the Monte Rosa.
Three stages of the Alta Via are situated within the Park: the stage No. 19 Passo del Giovo – Prariondo, the stage No. 20 Prariondo – Faiallo, and the stage No. 21 Faiallo – Passo del Turchino.
The three stages are characterized by not very high slopes, and they can be easily walked even by non-expert hikers. It is very important to choose the right day to hike, avoiding venturing out into high-altitude places when the fog can cause many orienteering problems.
In May and June, along the three stages it is possible to observe many and colored flowers. Furthermore, following the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri you will be able to admire many of the Park's typical animals, such as roe deers, hares, badgers, many bird species (eagles, woodpeckers, skylarks and other passerine birds typical of the mountain clearings).
From the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri visitors can also admire many of the geological formations which led to the acknowledgment of the Geopark and the inclusion of the Park's territory in the Internationa Geopark Network.
