On 17 November 2015, during the 38th General Conference held in Paris, the 195 Member States of UNESCO established the new "International Geoscience and Geoparks Programme" (IGGP) and ratified the creation of a new label, the UNESCO Global Geoparks.
This prestigious list also includes the Beigua’s territory that is protected by UNESCO because of the extraordinary value of the geological heritage and the management tools applied in collaboration with the local authorities and the local community.
Get active and enjoy the wonderful landscape of Beigua’s territory! There is a variety of opportunities. Trekking and mountain bike paths, nordic walking and orienteering, hiking and bouldering, canyoning and paragliding, horse riding and fishing, trail running and surf, golf and sailing, equipped beaches and bathing facilities, guided fieldtrips and educational programmes. Everything is possible in the Beigua Geopark. It provides the visitor with a choice of interesting events and activities of interest throughout the year.
